Engen, a proud gold sponsor of the Nampo Harvest Day, celebrated its long-standing partnership with the event by welcoming thousands of visitors to its interactive stand and ever-popular Vintage Tractor Museum at this year’s show, which ran from 13–16 May at Nampo Park in Bothaville.

From cutting-edge demonstrations to celebrity appearances and impactful community innovation, Engen delivered one of the most exciting and engaging exhibits of the show.

“We were delighted to once again support the country’s agricultural community, whose resilience and ingenuity continue to inspire,” says Sharveen Maharaj, General Manager: Commercial at Engen. “Nampo 2025 was a powerful showcase of innovation, and we are proud to have played a part in it.”

Fan Favourites and New Highlights Draw the Crowds

Thousands of visitors flocked to the Engen stand to experience a dynamic mix of innovation, education, and entertainment:

  • Springbok ambassadors and rugby fans came together in a moment of national pride on 15 May, with meet-and-greets proving a major hit. The surprise appearance of acclaimed singer Anlia Etzebeth, wife of Bok legend Eben Etzebeth, added to the magic.
  • A record number of attendees entered Engen’s “Win fuel for a year” competition via the Engen 1App, sparking excitement and engagement across the event.
  • The Engen Tractor Museum and live tractor engine demonstrations remained firm favourites, educating and entertaining visitors of all ages.
  • Complimentary Brazmata Coffee, daily spot giveaways, and warm hospitality further enhanced the experience.

Aquaponics Innovation Takes Centre Stage

A new highlight this year was the Aquaponics exhibition, which captivated audiences with live demonstrations by Luvo Gugwana, founder of Green Arch Innovations. The exhibition showcased the sustainable food production model being rolled out in partnership with Engen at Khanyisa Special School in Cala, Eastern Cape.

Combining aquaculture with hydroponics in a closed-loop system, the project highlights Engen’s investment in climate-smart agriculture and youth empowerment. Visitors to the stand learned first-hand how this innovative approach is helping to tackle food insecurity, conserve water, and foster eco-conscious education in South African schools.

“This year, we were proud to shine a spotlight on our Aquaponics partnership, which aligns with our commitment to sustainability and community upliftment,” says Olwethu Mdabula, Engen’s CSI Manager. “Luvo’s passion and practical demonstrations sparked meaningful conversations about the future of food and farming.”

Supporting Farmers Through Every Season

With a legacy spanning over four decades, Engen continues to support farmers with high-performance fuels, advanced lubricants, and expert service tailored to the needs of the agricultural sector.

“Engen is here to walk the journey with farmers—providing quality products, innovative solutions and dependable partnerships,” concludes Maharaj. “We thank all who visited our stand at Nampo 2025 and look forward to building an even brighter agricultural future together.”
