Engen Queens Convenience Centre is determined to make a positive difference and play a small part in uplifting the Queenstown community.

Dealers, Lucy and Saji James have lent a hand and assisted parish priest Father Thulani Gubula, who runs a soup kitchen for the local community.

According to Lucy, despite numerous volunteers and donors generously contributing time and resources, a lack of funds is an ongoing challenge for the soup kitchen.

“We wanted to play a role in helping those in need who have nowhere else to turn. The national lockdown has had a severe impact on many households in our community and the soup kitchen offers some respite,” comments Lucy.

As a caring company, Engen commend the Engen Queens Convenience Centre for showing heart and doing their bit to make a difference.

Comments Engen’s General Manager: Retail, Seelan Naidoo: “We commend our dealers for getting involved and playing a role in supporting the community at large.”

Engen Queens Convenience Centre financial contribution was matched by Engen’s Dealer Community Partnership Programme, which encourages Engen dealers to engage and support the local communities in which they operate.

Father Gubula thanked Engen for their generous show of community support and social upliftment.

The soup kitchen welcomes all members of the local community and runs every morning from Monday to Thursday.

To lend a hand and contribute please contact the Parish priest, Father Thulani Gubula on 045 838 2550.
