Digital automation and energy management company Schneider Electric recently appointed Nnadozie Ogbuehi as its VP, Services for Anglophone Africa.

Having taken up the role on July 1, Ogbuehi is responsible for managing both the sales and execution teams within the Services division in the English-speaking (Anglophone Africa) countries in East, West and Southern Africa.

“My position involves leading the Services business transformation for Anglophone Africa, including corporate strategy deployment, sales, pre-sales, operations and operational marketing,” says Ogbuehi.

Before taking up this role, Ogbuehi was the Services director for Anglophone East and West Africa at Schneider Electric – a position that he held for a year.

He joined Schneider Electric in 2005 as a sales engineer, after completing a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nigeria.

He also obtained a Master of Science degree in Project Management from Robert Gordon University and a Master’s in Business Administration degree from Lagos Business School.

“I want to ensure we have a high-performing team that will improve service delivery to our customers within the region, making sure their assets are properly managed, maintained and supported by Schneider Electric. This will ensure they get the optimum value for their investment into our services, products and solutions,” says Ogbuehi.

However, he notes that Schneider’s strategy is largely shaped around using local competence and partners.

As part of this strategy, Ogbuehi says he is working towards empowering Schneider Electric’s Service partner network by developing additional capacity through training and knowledge transfer.

“This will enable our partners to also grow their businesses and serve our customers and market better, ensuring consistently good service and the high reliability of their assets. Of course, I also intend to build a sustainable service business for Schneider in the region.”

In line with this, Ogbuehi says the immediate challenges that need to be addressed in his new role are around service delivery and quality and how to raise the bar in the market so that his division can deliver efficient services that are sustainable and aligned with global sustainability goals.
