BMG Power Transmission business unit manager Carlo Beukes says the premium services programme offers glass, bottling and beverage manufacturers expert audits, predictive maintenance capabilities and comprehensive on-site training to optimise system performance.

Additionally, the integration of Regal Rexnord’s Data Portal means that BMG’s customers will be able to identify and order the exact components they require quickly and accurately, reducing inventory carrying costs.

Demanding Application Solutions

Included in BMG’s Regal Rexnord portfolio is an integrated hot and cold end conveying solution that is specifically engineered for the demanding conditions of glass and container manufacturing.

BMG provides a full range of product conveying systems, complemented by an expanding portfolio of powertrain solutions.

Further, featured in the product range are TableTop chains, which comprise precision-engineered steel and plastic construction, that deliver “excellent” flatness and surface finish, ensuring efficient product handling, reduced container tipping and operational life.

Moreover, the MatTop belts are designed to enhance container stability while reducing product damage, helping manufacturers to maintain product integrity and reduce waste throughout the conveying process.

The Dynamic Transfer System, meanwhile, enables smooth and reliable transfer for delicate or unstable containers, reducing breakage and ensuring consistent line performance. Further, “superior chain-sprocket interaction” is achieved through the optimised engagement design, which extends chain life and reduces maintenance downtime.

Abrasive Solutions

For glass container manufacturing applications where abrasion resistance is critical, BMG recommends the use of the Rexnord BWX material – a specially formulated solution for chains exposed to glass shards, sand, dirt and other harsh particles.

The BWX material can extend chain wear life by up to five times, delivering “superior total cost of ownership in high-wear environments”, when compared with standard acetal materials.

Moreover, the polyamide-based material offers high wear resistance with reduced dust generation, suitable for demanding loads and speeds in highly abrasive, dry applications, with glass contact temperatures up to 85 °C.

Also included in BMG’s key products for hot end and cold end applications in glass manufacturing facilities are the Rexnord 7005 Series MatTop Chain, the Rexnord 1005 Series MatTop Chain and the Rexnord 1055 Series.
