SMS group is a global, leading partner for the metals industry. Headquartered in Germany, established since 1871, quality and innovation is in our DNA. Some of the subsidiaries of the SMS group includes Paul Wurth (for blast furnaces and coking plants), Elexis (production automation, drive engineering, quality control), SMS Elotherm (for induction technology), Duma Bandzink (for air knives, zink pot equipment, electrostatic oiling machines), EMG Automation, and Esmech (cold rolling and strip processing lines).

With our increased focus on emerging markets, and especially the African market, the SMS group has developed various market-specific processing plant solutions.

The SMS group was established in South Africa in 1958. In 1973, Schloemann and Siemag merged. In 1979, we became Mannesmann Demag. In 1999, we became SMS Demag, and in March 2009, SMS Demag reverted to the name of SMS Siemag. In 2015, the SMS group consolidated all group companies, including SMS Meer & SMS Siemag, under the brand name SMS group. Today, from our local offices in Morningside, Sandton, we service our clients throughout the SADC region.
