
Designers and manufacturers of transformers and switchgear Hansen + Genwest was founded in 1976, and supplied the first South African-designed and manufactured flameproof transformer in 1977. The company originated in South Africa as General Electric Transformer and later purchased the flameproof transformer section from Merlin Gerin.
