JSE-listed Wesizwe Platinum’s audited annual financial statements, integrated annual report and notice of AGM for the year ended December 31, 2024, have been delayed, owing to a cyberattack announced to the market on December 10, 2024, which resulted in unauthorised access to its computer systems.
The cyberattack had a significant impact on the availability of company’s financial reporting systems, which necessitated the implementation of alternative manual processes and controls and resulting in additional time required to obtain and verify financial information for audit.
As a result, Wesizwe says it requires additional time to complete the audit and finalise its financial statements, annual report and notice of AGM.
“The company is working diligently with its auditors and remains firmly committed to publishing the [statements, annual report and notice of AGM] as soon as possible and will keep the shareholders duly informed of any further developments,” it states.
