As part of the next phase of the restructuring process, Anglo American has informed Anglo American Platinum (Amplats) that additional administrative adjustments have been made.

The latest developments involve Anglo American South Africa (AASA) transferring its entire 66.7% ownership stake in Amplats to fellow Anglo American subsidiary Anglo American International.

As a result, AASA now holds zero Amplats shares.

Amplats assured shareholders on February 14 that the changes do not affect Anglo American’s overall ownership interest in the company. These adjustments are part of the company’s ongoing efforts to streamline its operations ahead of a planned separation from Anglo American.

On May 14 last year, Anglo American announced its intention to restructure its assets and separate its stake in Amplats. To prepare for this, an internal reorganisation involving Anglo American's South African subsidiaries was started on September 2.
