The proposed project aims to build the world’s largest renewable energy and battery storage hub, with a 5 000 km high-voltage direct current system to deliver up to 6 GW of power to industry.
The solar park forms part of Bid Window 6 of the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme.
With a storage capacity of more than 14 500 m3, the facility will serve as a strategic reserve for various fuels.
