Premier appoints Graham Hill as MD to advance Zulu into production
Aim-listed Premier African Minerals has appointed experienced mining executive Graham Hill as MD with effect from July 16, as the company looks to strengthen its technical leadership and bring the Zulu lithium and tantalum project in Zimbabwe into sustainable production.
Hill brings more than four decades of mine development and operational experience across Africa, Southern Europe and Central Asia. His appointment is aimed at addressing ongoing challenges at Zulu and delivering long-term operational stability.
Premier said it may subsequently invite Hill to join the board as CEO, following the resignation of George Roach announced in May. Such an appointment would be subject to regulatory checks under Aim rules and the successful completion of Hill’s probationary period.
“I am pleased and relieved that Graham has accepted this. I expect that his contribution to final resolution of the issues at Zulu will be marked and significant. Graham has wide experience that has direct relevance to our operations, and I welcome his hands-on, direct approach at Zulu,” said chairperson Godfrey Manhambara.
Hill most recently served as COO of Adriatic Metals, where he led the feasibility and development of the Vares project in Bosnia and Herzegovina. His earlier career included development roles with Silver Bear in Russia, Oxus Gold, and Axmin, where he advanced the Passendro gold project in the Central African Republic. He began his career with Anglo American.
Premier said it views Hill’s appointment as a key step in addressing operational and plant-related issues at Zulu, where efforts continue to bring the asset into full-scale production.
