A-OSH EXPO Cape Town confirms strong demand for workplace safety solutions

The Western Cape’s diverse economy, spanning shipping and logistics, vineyards and agriculture, manufacturing, tourism, construction, and high-rise commercial hubs, brings with it equally diverse occupational health and safety (OHS) demands. That diversity was on full display from 21 to 23 October 2025, when the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) hosted the debut A-OSH EXPO Cape Town, co-located with Securex South Africa, Facilities Management Expo, and Firexpo.
For three days, over 2000 industry professionals from across the province and beyond came together to explore, compare, and discuss solutions that safeguard workforces, improve compliance, and strengthen resilience across all sectors.
Meeting regional OHS realities
“The Western Cape faces a wide variety of occupational safety challenges, from seasonal agricultural risks to high-rise construction safety and the demands of logistics and ports. A-OSH EXPO Cape Town provided a much-needed platform where these industries could find solutions tailored to their needs, while also seeing how OHS integrates with security, fire protection, and facility management in a single, connected environment,” said Mark Anderson, Portfolio Director at Montgomery Group Africa.
On the show floor, exhibitors demonstrated everything from protective gear to digital monitoring systems, compliance software, and workplace wellness programmes. Noise and dust measurement devices attracted attention from manufacturers, while emergency preparedness tools resonated with the education and public sectors.
“The event highlighted that OHS is not only about regulatory compliance but also about improving productivity, reputation, and staff wellbeing. For many visitors, the ability to see practical innovations, from ergonomic gear to advanced risk assessment software, made the difference between theory and implementation,” says Anderson.
As part of the four-shows Cape Town platform (Securex, A-OSH EXPO, Facilities Management Expo, and Firexpo), A-OSH EXPO stood out not only for its OHS focus but also for the way it tied into the wider themes of security, fire safety, and facilities management. Many visitors highlighted the value of being able to compare across sectors: seeing how access control systems also support OHS record-keeping, how fire safety plans align with workplace evacuation strategies, and how facilities management tools contribute to safer environments overall.
“This holistic view of workplace safety proved particularly valuable to decision-makers from a wide variety of industries, who emphasised that managing risk today requires cross-sector thinking. The ability to see cross-sector systems working side by side gave visitors confidence in making more informed choices,” says Anderson.
Building safer workplaces together
The debut of A-OSH EXPO Cape Town confirmed that the Western Cape market is ready for a dedicated OHS platform. Visitors praised the accessibility of the CTICC and the convenience of sourcing multiple solutions in one hall. Exhibitors, in turn, noted strong engagement from decision-makers who might not travel to Johannesburg but who face significant OHS responsibilities locally.
Exhibitors praised the quality of conversations with safety professionals, while visitors highlighted the breadth of solutions and the opportunity to explore multiple disciplines under one roof.
“We have found that by partnering with Montgomery Group Africa at the various leading trade shows, our brand exposure has increased exponentially. Being at these events allows us to stay ahead of the game and position ourselves as a company to be taken seriously with the solutions we provide. Exhibiting at the inaugural Cape Town event was essential for us, and we were pleased to showcase our products alongside other exhibitors who have built strong reputations for themselves in their various areas of expertise. There was a great vibe at the show, and we feel that this is a long-overdue and much-needed event in Cape Town,” says Riaan Maree, Sales Manager at Pinnacle Welding and Safety.
“This is a great opportunity for businesses in the Western Cape to find the solutions they need in these specific sectors. It’s fantastic!” says Udeen Singh from Philip Morris South Africa.
“A-OSH EXPO Cape Town is now firmly positioned as a key regional event, strengthening the province’s workplace safety culture and ensuring organisations across all sectors have access to the knowledge and tools they need to protect their people. . We look forward to welcoming everyone again in March 2027, alongside the co-located shows, as well as the newly introduced Cape Town Industrial Technology Exhibition (CITE).
