Absa CIB highlights support for rail infrastructure development at SARA Rail Conference and Expo

Engineering News talks to Absa CIB coverage banker, public sector, Thato Masenya at the 14th SARA Rail Conference and Exhibition about its role in funding infrastructure development in the rail industry.
Pan-African Bank Absa CIB highlighted its commitment to funding rail infrastructure and train operations in the Southern African region by attending the 14th SARA Rail Conference and Exhibition, hosted at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.
Engineering News spoke to Absa CIB coverage banker, public sector, Thato Masenya who emphasised the need for policy coordination and harmonisation to facilitate lending and economic growth.
He also advanced the importance of rail in interlinking the region, citing the example of corridors linking South Africa to Eswatini and the emerging Libito Corridor, a major trade and logistics initiative in Angola. Masenya also underscored the value of partnerships with development finance institutions to leverage different skill sets and capabilities for project appraisals and funding.
