AngloGold Ashanti, one of the world’s leading gold producers, has fully exited its investment in TSX-listed G2 Goldfields, selling its entire holding of 35 948 965 common shares in a market transaction on the Toronto exchange on Tuesday.

The stake represented about 14.95% of G2 Goldfields' issued and outstanding shares on a non-diluted basis, based on the company’s 240 487 170 total outstanding shares as of February 28, 2025. Following the transaction, AngloGold no longer holds any shares in the Canadian gold explorer.

According to a company statement, the sale was undertaken as part of a routine review of AngloGold’s investment portfolio, and executed in the ordinary course of business.

G2 Goldfields, headquartered in Toronto, is focused on gold exploration in Guyana.
