Aim-listed Atlantic Lithium has collected 1 344 soil samples from the Ewoyaa lithium project surrounds in Ghana, with more than 5 400 samples still being collected in an ongoing geochemical soil sampling programme.

The company has been advancing geochemical work, as well as geological mapping and rock chip sampling, on a newly granted and previously unexplored area of the Senya Beraku prospecting licence, which is within 70 km of the Ewoyaa project.

Ewoyaa is the company’s flagship deposit which was granted a mining lease in October 2023.

Notably, Senya Beraku lies 20 km east of the known Egyasimanku Hill-Winneba spodumene pegmatite field where coarse-grained spodumene pegmatites have been observed by other parties.

Atlantic cannot yet confirm spodumene mineralisation from the samples as assays are pending, but the company has identified coarse-grained pegmatite units from geological mapping.

The Senya Beraku deposit would benefit from existing infrastructure in future, including transmission lines and the N1 Accra-Takoradi highway.

Atlantic chairperson Neil Herbert comments that the recently granted Senya Beraku prospecting licence represents new, unexplored tenure offering considerable exploration upside potential.

“With no lithium exploration having been conducted previously over the licence, we are pleased to now be on the ground undertaking soil sampling, mapping and rock chip sampling, with the view to identify new anomalies for follow-up with targeted drilling,” he adds.

While Atlantic remains primarily focused on advancing the Ewoyaa project through permitting towards construction, the company recognises the potential value to be delivered from the continued exploration of its large, still vastly unexplored tenure package in Ghana, which it believes is highly prospective for further lithium discovery.
