Industrial services company Barloworld has appointed Dr Nolulamo Gwagwa chairperson of the board, effective October 1.

This is in addition to her appointment as independent nonexecutive director.

The company has also decided it best that Gwagwa chair the Nomination Committee and Strategy and Investment Committee, as well as serve on the Remuneration Committee and Social, Ethics and Transformation Committee.

She has four decades of experience across multiple industries in the public and private sectors, Including on the boards of FirstRand, Sun International, Afrox, and currently Zutari and Massmart Holdings.

Barloworld CEO Dominic Sewela comments that Gwagwa’s passion for value creation and transformation, combined with her extensive experience in the built environment and infrastructure development sector across multiple African jurisdictions, makes her the ideal candidate to oversee the company’s growth strategy.
