JSE-listed industrial equipment and services company Barloworld, in a trading statement, says it expects its basic earnings per share (EPS) for the financial year ended September 30 to have decreased by between 23% and 24.9% year-on-year.

Its headline earnings per share (HEPS) are also expected to have decreased by between 20.3% and 22.3% year-on-year.

Basic EPS for the group are likely to be between 767.3c and 787.3c, down from the basic EPS of 1 022.2c reported for the 2024 financial year.

HEPS are likely to be between 794.5c and 814.5c, compared with the HEPS of 1 022.1c reported for the 2024 financial year.

The expected decline in earnings is primarily attributable to the decline in trading activities in the Vostochnaya Technica business, in Russia, and to lower demand across some Southern African markets, the company says.
