Bluhm Burton Engineering Group adds to their team
Bluhm Burton Engineering (BBE), the specialist mine refrigeration and ventilation consultancy group, has recently welcomed Morné Beukes to the team.
With over 25 years of experience in the mining sector, Beukes has extensive knowledge in ventilation, refrigeration and the occupational hygiene along with education and training, particularly in emergency response and disaster management. He brings invaluable experience from his tenure at AngloGold Ashanti where he was the Group Ventilation Engineer.
“With his expertise and vast experience within ventilation, refrigeration, occupational hygiene and training in South African mining, we believe he will add additional strength and depth to the BBE team,” says Dr Steven Bluhm, CEO: BBE Group.
Beukes will be taking on a leadership role within a number of initiatives planned by BBE. This will include developing a stronger collective understanding within the various project teams and executing strategy within the group’s globalisation initiative across the South African, Canadian and Australian offices.
Morné will also be involved in expanding BBE’s dust and rock thermal laboratory services.
Skills development and education are vital elements within the sector. BBE has an in-house employee development programme that will be significantly expanded. “We are looking to improve and refine these offerings both internally and externally for clients, and will be utilising all the skills that Morné brings with him,” says Bluhm.
BBE are leaders in mine refrigeration, cooling and ventilation practices; measurement and control of underground pollutants; energy optimisation; and computer modelling and software for heat loads, cooling and ventilation networks.
“Morné brings many exciting skills and experience to the BBE team and we are looking forward to his input in the business,” concludes Wynand Marx, MD: BBE Consulting.
