Cashbuild reports 1% increase in second-quarter revenue
JSE-listed building materials and products retailer Cashbuild has reported a 1% year-on-year increase in revenue for the second quarter of its 2026 financial year.
In an update to shareholders on Sens, the company notes that, for the 309 existing stores – in existence prior to July 2024 – revenue decreased by 2% while the 15 new stores contributed 3% growth.
This, combined with the results reported for the first quarter of the 2026 financial year, equates to an increase in revenue for the half-year ended December 28, 2025, of 3% when compared with the prior half-year ended December 29, 2024.
Transactions through the tills during the second quarter for the group increased by 2% year-on-year, with existing stores decreasing by 1% and new stores contributing 3%.
Cashbuild notes that selling inflation was 0.8% at the end of December 2025 compared with December 2024.
During the second quarter, the company points out, the group opened one new store, refurbished seven stores, relocated one store and closed one underperforming store.
The group further acquired three Amper Alles stores and disposed of its interest in the Malawi operations – two stores – bringing the total number of stores trading at the end of the half-year to 322.
