The Hydraulic Connection develops, manufactures and supplies non-standard parts, manipulated tubing, hoses, fittings and associated products for hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, water, air and brake applications for original-equipment manufacturers (OEMs). It can accommodate one-off orders and large production runs from its production facilities based in Sebenza, east of Johannesburg.

The motivated, positive staff at The Hydraulic Connection pride themselves on offering customers a service that exceeds expectations. The company’s highly skilled technicians undergo ongoing in-house training, and all welding and soldering operators are tested quarterly by an independent authority.

Products and services include:

• Tube bending for mild steel, stainless steel, copper, aluminium, schedule tubing and Zista tubing. These products are used in a range of applications such as hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, brake, water, air and light industry and are available in sizes 4.76 mm to 127 mm.
• Welding of mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium and schedule tubing, used in hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, brake, water, air and light industry applications.
• Soldering of mild steel and stainless steel for hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, brake, water, air and light industry applications.
• All silver soldered items are pressure tested to ensure high-quality products and are zinc plated to the company’s standard or to customers’ specifications.
• Flaring, including Joint Industry Council (JIC), O-ring face seal (ORFS), single flaring  (brake lines), double flaring (brake lines), convex flaring (brake lines), fuel ball (cone), nut and cutting ring. These products are used in hydraulic, fuel and brake applications.
• Beading standardised by the Society of Automotive Engineering (SAE) and the German Institute for Standardisation (DIN). Applications for beading include hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, brake, water and air.
• Hose assembly of various types, including 1, 2 and 4 wire hydraulic hoses, Mifa hoses (PZ silver braided), fuel hoses, hose cotton covers, brake hoses, silicone and teflon hoses (smooth and convoluted), nylon pipes and Suzi coils. Hoses are used in hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, brake, water and air applications.

A range of hose outer covers can also be fitted, such as fire sleeving, spring guard, nylon sleeving and spiral guard. All hose crimping is done to manufacturers’ specifications.

The company also supplies a wide range of metric and imperial tools and components, and can source and supply standard valves, pumps, cylinders and manifold blocks. In addition, it manufactures bespoke products for specific needs, such as special fittings, adaptors, tube reducers, exhaust mufflers and machining lathes.

It provides a range of services from its five fully owned factories, each 375 m2 in size, including on-site development, integration of items supplied and developed to ensure seamless fitment and complete customer satisfaction, as well as system reviews to ensure that all goods are correctly specified and identified for an application. All tools and equipment are maintained, serviced and upgraded regularly and, by using the correct tools and equipment, it ensures that components are properly fitted and installed.

Customer support is provided at every stage, from develop-ment and testing to production and after-sales service. Installation and fitment assistance is provided throughout a project and a complete system supply kit is also available.

The Hydraulic Connection records all information, adjustments and modifications related to systems it supplies and this information is available to customers on request.
