Clean ammonia project.

Location
Beaumont, Texas, on the US Gulf Coast.

Project Owner/s
Woodside Energy entered into a binding agreement to acquire 100% of OCI Clean Ammonia Holding and the ammonia project for an all-cash consideration of about $2.35-billion in August 2024.

Project Description
The project is the world’s first ammonia plant to be paired with autothermal reforming with 95%+ CO2 capture.

Phase 1 has a design capacity of 1.1-million tonnes a year.

Phase 2 is designed to accommodate a second 1.1-million-tonne-a-year production train.

At full development, the project will abate about 3.2-million tonnes a year of CO2 equivalent.

Phase 2 is estimated at between $1.2-billion and $1.4-billion.

Planned Start/End Date
The project is targeting production of first ammonia from 2025 and lower-carbon ammonia from 2026.
