Colas South Africa's focus at CAPSA 2019
This article has been supplied.
Colas South Africa, we will be focussing this CAPSA on introducing some of the latest solutions Colas have developed in Europe over the past few years like:
- Colbifibre ® , a cold surface treatment which combines a fibrous single layer surface dressing and a micro surfacing that also contains fibers. Adding fibers helps to slow crack growth and to enhance the performance of the Colbifibre® complex under intense and heavy traffic.
- Compomac ®, a storable cold asphalt mix, ready to use and available in bulk, in big bags or in buckets and as a result is ideal for carrying out small maintenance jobs.
- Emulcol ®, an innovative process used to control the breaking of the emulsion by spraying a chemical additive onto the emulsion film, allowing the break to take place in effectively any weather or season.
- Rodal ® consists of an open mix generally comprised of 20 - 25% air voids with grout flowing into the voids via percolation. This grouted mix has a high performance designed to withstand static and dynamic stresses.
- Rugosoft ® is a thin or very thin asphalt mix (0/6 mm) for wearing course. Its gradation curve is continuous, and the formula contains a high level of fine gravel along with a modified Colflex® binder.
- Valorcol ® is a cold mix consisting of reclaimed asphalt that is typically mixed with asphalt emulsion. Due to its ability to be manufactured in a central plant (stationary or mobile), it allows for treatments and the incorporation of additives during production
- Colclair ® is a series of clear and coloured Colas coatings made from the synthetic binder Bituclair ®
Colas is also celebrating its 90th year in 2019 and we will also be focusing on some of our successes and history over the 90 years.
