A new compact electric mini picker is now available to the Southern African market. The versatile, environment-friendly Jekko MPK10 mini picker is exclusively distributed in the country by lifting and materials handling solutions company SkyJacks.

Designed for versatile lifting operations, the unit is particularly useful in confined spaces and indoor applications. With a lifting capacity of 990 kg and compliant with EN13000 regulations, it is suited for applications in industries such as construction, manufacturing, engineering, mining, and logistics.

The unit’s dimensions of 2.15 m in length and 1.49 m in height make it compact and lightweight. Weighing 1 045 kg, it is designed to be easy to transport and manoeuvre. Its pick-and-carry capability allows it to move continuously with a suspended load, making it an efficient tool for dynamic work environments.

SkyJacks sales manager Keith Freel emphasises the significance of this addition to the market: "The [Jekko MPK10’s] compact design and advanced features make it highly adaptable to confined spaces, while its zero-emission electric operation aligns with the growing demand for sustainable solutions."

The unit’s fully electric operation ensures zero emissions and makes it ideal for indoor environments or projects that prioritise sustainability. It can be equipped with a manipulator featuring suction cups for handling delicate materials such as glass, or it can function in hook mode for general lifting tasks. Its main column can rotate 9° on each side, making it adaptable for various industrial applications.

Unlike other models in the Jekko range, such as the SPX328 and SPX352, the MPK10 is specifically engineered for pick-and-carry operations without the need for outriggers. While the SPX models are engineered for greater lifting capacities and telescopic booms, the MPK10 prioritises compactness and manoeuvrability, making it particularly well-suited for indoor environments and tight workspaces.

Additional features include a remote radio control for precision operation, a small footprint for navigating narrow passages, and a reduced weight that allows for easy loading onto trailers for transport between job sites. These attributes make it useful for urban construction sites, factory floors, and warehouses where space is limited.

"Industries such as construction, mining, and logistics will benefit greatly from the MPK10’s ability to operate efficiently in tight spaces while maintaining high performance. It’s a versatile solution that addresses both operational challenges and sustainability goals," added Freel.
