Company expands product offering in line with client needs

Assaying supplier Talfurnco, a wholly owned subsidiary of energy, telecommunication and network optimisation specialist AVE Engineering and distributor of Averge Technologies, has expanded its offering to include value-added products and services from its holding company, to cater for a wider array of needs from its expanding client base.

The company now supply overhead line products, as well as liveline-work equipment for the power utility and rail industries.  It also offers lightning and surge protection services and devices, with its service offering ranging from engineering and cost-optimised designs to system installations.  Its products are approved by State-owned utility Eskom, and are used by specialists in the energy sector.

In terms of alternative energy, Talfurnco now supplies sealed lead acid, lithium and Nicad batteries, as well as a full range of rectifiers, as part of its energy storage solutions. It partners with leaders for the design and installation of advanced bioenergy facilities and has a Hot Water Solar series that includes roof-mounted and closed-circuit solar water heaters. Talfurnco also offers grid-interactive, grid-tied and island photovoltaic solar systems.

From a telecom’s perspective, it offers a range of products and services for privately-owned networks, internet providers and contractors. Talfurnco has partnered with leading manufacturers worldwide to offer “world class solutions” to the southern African region.  Said offering includes: Access chambers and handholes, overhead line hardware, patch panels, fibre cables and termination boxes.

Originally established as a furnace manufacturer in 1981, the BBBEE Level 2 company remains one of the primary assaying suppliers to the South African mining laboratories as well as several private laboratories. It caters for the “total needs” of assaying laboratories, metallurgical plants, platinum process plants, as well as for the heat-treatment industry. It also assists in furnace rebuilding, re-bricking all types of furnaces, either done on- or offsite, depending on the work required.

Outside South Africa, Talfurnco furnaces and drying ovens have been successfully set up in Ghana, Italy, Spain, Russia, Mali, Kenya, Venezuela, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, and Botswana, besides others...

In addition to supplying and manufacturing furnaces, foundry furniture and ancillary equipment, Talfurnco is also the official distributor in South Africa for a range of products such as (Raycap Low Voltage DC & AC Surge Protection Devices, Leoch Batteries, Solahart solar hot water systems and Schneider). It also supplies clay, graphite protection sheaths and related instrumentation and accessories.
