Aim- and TSX-V-listed Cornish Metals has bought about 4.5 acres of land adjacent to its South Crofty tin project, in Conwall, in the UK, from the Cornwall Council, taking the total land area of the project to about 32.5 acres.

The additional land provides direct access to the main road at Dundance lane from where a new entrance to the mine site is planned and where a new mine office, stores and workshop will be located.

South Crofty is a historical, high-grade, underground tin mine and benefits from existing mine infrastructure including multiple shafts that can be used for future operations.

Tin is a critical mineral as defined by the UK, US and Canadian governments as it is used in almost all electronic devices and electrical infrastructure.

A 2024 preliminary economic assessment estimates production about 4 700 t/y in the initial years of production.
