DELBA Electrical Bids Farewell to its Founder
We are deeply saddened to announce that Armando Balocco, the founding member of DELBA Electrical, passed away peacefully on the 15th of January 2024 after a sudden cardiac event.
Armando was an industry leader and a visionary that was always at the forefront of new technology and solutions for the electrical rotating machines industry in South Africa. His passing is a big loss for the service industry, but we also know that Armando’s legacy will continue through the very successful company and team he has built.
Our deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues at DELBA.
The 94-year-old entrepreneur was best described as a strong-willed, visionary leader, whose bravery, loyalty, creativity, and resilience were matched by his business acumen and fierce determination.
He founded DELBA in 1963 together with his friend and colleague Isidoro Del Piccolo, and over a period of more than 60 years, together with the knowledge and support of his son David, and a legion of loyal employees has turned the business into a market leading enterprise.
Armando considered the DELBA employees as the company’s biggest asset and was admired as both a mentor and father to all who had the privilege of working with him.
Expecting only the best from all around him, he was determined in his quest of providing unrivalled customer service and establishing a world leading electric motor and generator repair facility.
While this is a tremendous loss, the DELBA team pledges to carry Armando’s legacy into the future and to continue to grow the business and deliver on the company’s long-standing commitment to excellence.
