The impressive new Multichoice headquarters, DSTV City, in Randburg which has four levels of basement parking covering some 52,900 sq meters and 27,617 sq meters of office space was bricked by Ocon Brick, one of South Africa’s leading clay stock brick manufacturers.

Group Five, Site Agent/General Site Manager, Harry Saal commented “The new Multichoice headquarters project, which commenced in April 2014, had no facility for over stocking of supplies due to its location being on Bram Fischer Drive, a main thoroughfare surrounded by a mix of smaller offices and a large residential community.”

“We chose Ocon Brick to supply the clay stock bricks based on their price, quality and manufacturing capability. Being unable to store large quantities of product, their delivery reliability was critical. We utilised approximately 1.560,000 Ocon bricks for this project, and were supplied in the quantities and at specific times we required them. The service and attention to our specific needs from Ocon Brick made them a pleasure to work with on the Multichoice project.” concluded Saal.

All Ocon Brick clay stock bricks are manufactured on site and subjected to stringent quality testing. Random selections of clay stock bricks are sent to an external laboratory for SANS 227 compliance testing on a monthly basis.
