Project Description
The project plans to blend 700 MW of wind and 800 MW of solar PV with a battery energy storage system (BESS) facility of between 400 MW and 500 MW, with four hours of storage.

Once in commercial operation, EnergyFields will be able to supply about 3.6 TWh/y from its solar PV and wind generators, and between 1.12 TWh/y and 1.4 TWh/y from the BESS.

Earth & Wire is also planning to support grid expansion and strengthen the Eastern Cape by adding 2.35 GW of connection capacity against the 2 GW required by EnergyFields, allowing for additional connections.

Earth & Wire aims to reach financial close on the renewables and storage cluster by the third quarter of 2027 and start supplying green electricity to customers by 2030.
