Engineering consumables company extends product range

18th January 2008

Engineering consumables specialist Bearing Man’s specialist seals division distributes a comprehensive range of quality branded seals, which include rotary shaft, torric, hydraulic and pneumatic seals, as well as allied products like O-rings, singlespring mechanical seals, gland packing, waved washers and circlips.

“To meet growing market demand, the company has extended its range to include flexible hydraulic hose, couplings and fittings designed for enhanced performance in industrial, mining, manufacturing, construction, transport and agricultural applications,” says divisional director of Bearing Man’s seals division, Ken Steel.

“The company’s commitment to providing high-quality components is evident in the extreme care taken in brand selection, in terms of standardisation, reliability, flexibility and consistent quality controls. Bearing Man, which has a national branch network throughout Southern Africa, offers a technical advisory and 24-hour back-up service.”

Bearing Man now distributes flexible hydraulic hoses and fittings, as well as hydraulic power, motion and control components, such as pumps, motors, valves, filters, and power packs.

These new hoses and fittings, which are manufactured to stringent quality specifications, have approval from leading original-equip-ment manufacturers like Case, New Holland, John Deere and JCB. These units have been tested to one-million flex impulse cycles, with a no leak guarantee. Fittings are manufactured from one-piece bar stock, which means no brazing or silver soldering.

A highly protective abrasive- resistant cover with self-extinguish- ing properties is available on selected hoses to be used in arduous conditions and MF 2000 fittings are coated with a special plating that is five times more resistant to rust than conventional fittings.

Hoses are supplied in extra-long lengths, resulting in less waste. For convenience, hoses up to one inch are packed onto reels. Fitting inserts are designed for one- and two-wire braid hose, as well as for four-spiral hose.

Apart from wire-braided and multispiral hose for the agricultural and manufacturing sectors, a wide range of hoses for the mining, construction and transport industries is also available. These include water and airline hoses, suction and delivery hoses, and steel and stainless-steel hydraulic line tubing and fittings.

For extreme operating environments, hose with a wide mineral and biological oil compatibility is recommended. These hoses have a flame-retardant cover material that is also abrasion, ozone and weather resistant.

This range has an isobaric pressure rating for easy selection, improved flexibility and a reduced bend radius. No protection sleeves are required.

Bearing Man offers a technical advisory and support service throughout Southern Africa.
