The upcoming MINExpo International – returning to Las Vegas, in the US, from September 24 to 26 – will have a renewed focus on technological advancement, workforce development and global industry collaboration. Event organiser the National Mining Association (NMA) says this reflects the growing importance of these themes in the mining sector.

This year’s expo will be the biggest indoor event in MINExpo’s history, states the NMA, with more than 260 000 m2 of exhibition space across three halls.

The NMA has rebranded the event for a fresh, modern look, thereby enhancing the experience for attendees.

New activations have been added in the exhibit halls, offering attendees the opportunity to engage with interactive displays and demonstrations of the latest mining equipment and services.

MINExpo 2024’s tagline, “If it’s mining, it lives here”, underscores the event’s comprehensive scope, encompassing the full breadth of the mining industry.

This year’s focus areas will also include AI and the application of new technologies in mining operations and how other modern technologies are being integrated into modern mining operations.

Specifically, attendees will experience first-hand how AI is being used to optimise everything from mining exploration to extraction, processing and even safety measures.

These focal points are timely amid the industry’s increasing reliance on technology to optimise efficiency, improve safety and address environmental concerns.

The NMA adds that MINExpo will build on the success of the 2021 edition, which received “overwhelmingly positive feedback”.

The organiser adds that the event continues to serve as a platform for industry leaders to showcase the latest products and services, while addressing the challenges and opportunities facing the mining sector.

MINExpo will attract professionals from every sector of the mining industry, including international participants, with mining professionals coming together to connect with suppliers, network with peers and meet potential partners who can help drive their operations forward.

Speaker Line-Up

One of the highlights of MINExpo 2024 will be its speaker series, featuring some notable names from various fields.

The series will start with an opening keynote address by Mike Rowe, who is expected to share his unique perspective on work, leadership and resilience.

The line-up also includes prominent figures such as Dr Kelly Monahan, an expert in workforce trends; former Nascar driver and professional motorsport personality Danica Patrick; magician and former NFL player Jon Dorenbos; and businessman and television personality Kevin O’Leary.

Further, two major panel discussions will take place: The Producer CEO Panel, on September 24, and the Manufacturer and Services CEO Panel, on September 25. They will bring together industry leaders to discuss pressing issues and share insights into the future of mining.

Key Features

MINExpo 2024 will serve as a platform for unveiling new products, services and technologies that promise to “revolutionise” the mining industry.

Exhibitors will also showcase machine learning tools and new equipment designed to improve efficiency and safety in mining.

The NMA has emphasised that visitors should take advantage of the opportunity to explore the latest technological advancements, which could have a “significant impact” on their operations.

For attendees looking to make the most of their time at the event, the NMA advises careful planning and the leveraging of the event’s digital tools, such as the official MINExpo app, to schedule meetings, plan exhibit visits and stay informed about the event’s activities.
