Sensor and software technologies expert Hexagon solves surface and underground mining challenges with proven technologies for planning, operations and safety. The company’s customers expect an integrated safety ecosystem of solutions that unify collision avoidance, operator alertness and intervention systems.

Hexagon has 65 000 collision avoidance systems deployed, the largest global install base on the market. Beyond this cohesive safety and productivity platform is a mission-centric approach to autonomy that ensures that vehicles do not just operate safely but contribute to optimised production by managing payloads, traffic rules and destination timing.

“A safe mine is a profitable mine,” says Hexagon mining executive VP Dave Goddard.

“That said, technology is just one layer of mine safety. Change management and data insights are also important layers. Neither Hexagon’s collision avoidance system nor operator alertness system stand alone as 100% effective.

“Even when both solutions are combined, operators must still be engaged and re-engaged in a cycle of continuous improvement, which is what Hexagon aims to achieve for the life of our customers’ mines,” he adds. added

Goddard is focused on solving real-world challenges for mining customers, “from first core to final ore”, in a life-of-mine (LoM) partnered approach.

“As a trusted partner, we sell relationships not products. Hexagon has ten years in the business but represents decades of proven solutions and is the only company capable of helping mines to optimise value over the LoM while also ensuring that the plan is executed daily without value leakage.”
