IGO to reduce size of its board

MD and CEO Ivan Vella has implemented substantial changes at IGO, refreshing its strategy and reshaping its corporate and exploration teams.
Australian miner IGO on Friday announced a strategic overhaul of its board structure as part of transformation efforts under MD and CEO Ivan Vella.
Chairperson Michael Nossal said the changes followed a period of substantial internal transformation for the company. “Under the leadership of managing director and CEO Ivan Vella, IGO has undergone a substantial transformation – refreshing its strategy, strengthening internal systems and processes, and reshaping its corporate and exploration teams to be leaner, more agile, and better aligned with the company’s long-term vision,” Nossal said in a statement.
Following the yearly review of board composition, IGO will reduce the size of its board and initiate a succession plan, including a transition of the chair role and the appointment of new independent nonexecutive directors.
The board refresh aims to ensure governance is aligned with IGO’s updated strategic direction and organisational structure.
“As IGO evolves, so too must its board,” said Nossal.
“The company’s transformation has been profound, and it is only natural that the board aligns itself with the streamlined, strategic organisation that IGO has become. Our goal is to establish a smaller board with the right mix of skills to guide the business through its next chapter, while ensuring that the transition is carefully managed to maintain continuity of governance and retention of corporate memory.”
IGO said further updates on board appointments and transitions would be provided in due course.
