Japanese excavators well suited to South African quarrying conditions
Local distributor for Sumitomo excavators, ELB Equipment, asserts that the Japanese-designed machines meet the challenges of quarrying operations in South Africa where they are deployed in a variety of applications from loading to digging and rock breaking.
ELB Equipment’s Keon Kardolus says the excavators outperform competitors for speed, efficiency, reliability and cost-effectiveness.
“What sets the Japanese Sumitomo apart is the use of premium quality components that are built to work all day in the toughest conditions. The power and performance are unmatched and incorporate, advanced hydraulic systems for faster digging capabilities. The carefully matched Isuzu engines and advanced management systems also make for unmatched efficiency. As a result, excavators across the range enjoy class leader efficiency and reduced emission, aligning with global environmental standards and regulations,” says Kardolus.
In addition, the excavators feature spacious and ergonomic cabs, advanced noise reduction technology and enhanced visibility – all aimed at increasing productivity and reducing operator fatigue.
The range includes the 21 t Sumitomo SH210-6 machine, the heavy Sumitomo SH490LHD-5B and the 82 t class Sumitomo SH800LHD-5B, with a variety of additional options available to meet the diverse needs of the quarrying industry.
ELB Equipment notes that it has a comprehensive service and support network throughout Southern Africa with strategically located branches and service centres across the region, including South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The company highlights its networks’ fully equipped workshops, robust spare parts inventory and skilled technicians trained to service and repair all equipment.
