Kuiljaars succeeds Wanblad as Kumba nonexec director
Diversified miner Anglo American has announced that De Beers Group CFO Sarah Kuijlaars will join the Kumba Iron Ore board as a nonexecutive director, effective May 31.
This follows Anglo CE Duncan Wanblad announcing his stepping down as nonexecutive director of Kumba, as well as member of the strategy and investment committee of Kumba, effective May 31.
Kumba chairperson Terence Goodlace believes Kuijlaars will serve the board well with her extensive industry and broader experience, as the company continues to build a resilient and competitive business.
Kuijlaars was previously CFO of design and engineering consultancy Arcadis, as well as deputy CFO at automaker Rolls Royce Holdings.
She also held a number of senior financial leadership roles during her 25-year career at Royal Dutch Shell.
Currently, Kuijlaars is also a nonexecutive director at automotive distributor Inchcape.
