For years, preschoolers in Laingsburg have spent their school days navigating the limitations of a shared community centre. While the hall provided a temporary roof, the lack of a private, permanent teaching space subordinated school activities to local community events. This changed in November 2025 when Kwikspace delivered a dedicated 7x7 m classroom, granting the school a standalone identity and a focused environment for the young learners.

Moving the pupils into a standalone modular unit has secured the privacy and stability required for effective early childhood development. This new double-wide classroom accommodates approximately 20 learners, providing a bright, secure, and self-contained space designed specifically for teaching.

Kwikspace fast-tracked the project from order to completion in just six weeks, delivering the unit on 20 November – one week ahead of schedule. Although the Laingsburg site presented a challenging mix of sandy and compacted ground, Kwikspace bypassed the need for expensive, time-consuming ground preparations. The modular unit’s integrated adjustable jacks (essentially the 'feet' of the building) allow for precise levelling directly on the existing terrain. This technical advantage highlights the superiority of modular construction over traditional methods, delivering a stable foundation on uneven surfaces without the delays of excavation or concrete curing.

To protect the young learners, Kwikspace cordoned off the work area throughout the installation process. Each unit underwent rigorous factory quality checks before leaving the plant to ensure the school was ready for immediate occupation.

The handover ceremony was a poignant moment for the school’s staff. The principal, who has dedicated her career to early childhood education, was visibly moved as she received the  keys, noting that the facility finally allows her to pursue her passion in a space she can call her own. For Kwikspace, the project underscores the company's commitment to social infrastructure. “It is an absolute honour to be involved in projects like these that have a positive impact on the lives of others, and especially children and the generations that will follow,” noted a Kwikspace representative.
