Kwikspace supplies Western Cape primary school with its first dedicated library
This article has been supplied.
Kwikspace, Africa’s largest manufacturer of prefabricated, modular buildings, recently delivered and installed a new library unit for Elnor Primary School, situated in Elsie’s River, Western Cape, on behalf of Breadline Africa. The NGO purchased the unit for the school, which did not have its own dedicated library.
Breadline Africa’s mission is to provide safe spaces for children, enabling them to learn. Through various initiatives, including infrastructure projects, it supports early childhood education and childhood development. Elnor Primary School is a recent Breadline Africa beneficiary, having received the new 8.14 x 3.58 m library unit, supplied by Kwikspace. The unit will accommodate approximately 10 students at a time. The standard modular prefabricated library unit comes fitted with a veranda, safety gate, internal electrical supply and floor covering. Breadline Africa also supplied books, shelves and furniture for the library.
Kwikspace units are locally manufactured using polyurethane, which provides strength and durability, with a life expectancy of up to 20 years if properly maintained. It has excellent thermal insulation properties and does not delaminate over time.
“Breadline Africa has been a Kwikspace customer for a number of years, and typically purchases library or kitchen units for under-privileged schools,” explains Tony Collison, Account Manager, Kwikspace. “In turn, our mobile units are an ideal option as they are factory manufactured to high quality standards,” says Collison.
The order for the library unit was placed on 2 November and the unit was delivered to the school on 1 December 2021. There are plans for Breadline Africa to purchase more of these Kwikspace units, for more schools, from next year. “Kwikspace has 50 years’ experience and offers high quality products with short lead time,” concludes Collison.
