Low emissions underground truck for mining operations
A new 22-t underground truck designed for mining operations with small drift sizes is designed to ensure reduced exhaust emissions, lower fuel consumption, and extended service intervals.
The Minetruck MT22 from Epiroc retains the same exterior design of the MT2200 version, while introducing various upgrades, including the Stage V engine option and European Conformity certification. Stage V is the EU’s latest stage of engine emission legislation designed to reduce pollution from off-highway machines.
Equipped with a Cummins QSL9 Stage V engine that is designed for high power and torque, the truck features an after-treatment system engineered to reduce harmful emissions such as particulate matter and nitrogen oxides.
Additional advantages include lower noise levels, greater fuel efficiency, and extended oil change intervals, from 500 to 1 000 hours, reduced maintenance and operational downtime.
“In addition to the Stage V engine, the new Minetruck MT22 offers other engine variants, including China IV and Tier III, giving customers the flexibility to choose based on their specific needs and preferences,” says Epiroc global product manager: Minetruck small segment Prerna Devkar.
The Cummins QSL9 Stage V engine is available globally as an option for the Minetruck MT22 and is also available for other models including the Scooptram ST1030, Scooptram ST14 S/SG, Scooptram ST18 S/SG, Minetruck MT42 S/SG, Minetruck MT54 S, and Minetruck MT65 S.
Epiroc underground trucks and loaders are all compatible with HVO100, a renewable biodiesel alternative, aimed at further reducing greenhouse gas emissions and pollutants while enhancing engine performance and longevity.
Beyond the engine upgrade, the Minetruck MT22 incorporates several additional improvements, such as an integrated load weighing system and an optional 3-point seatbelt.
