MAHLE has received an "A" rating again in the 2025 Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) assessment by the nonprofit organization in the climate protection category and an "A-" in water security. With this achievement, the technology company has secured another placement on the Climate A List and the Leadership tier. The award confirms the consistent implementation of the company's own sustainability strategy, in which the set climate targets are validated externally by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). In 2025, MAHLE further reduced its CO2 emissions and improved the assessment of location-specific climate risks through a new analysis tool. "The award once again confirms: Our climate protection commitment is not only ambitious, but effective and scientifically sound. We are steadfastly committed to our strategic climate targets and will implement them with full responsibility in the future," said Georg Dietz, Member of the Management Board of the MAHLE Group and responsible for Sustainability, Health, Occupational Safety, and Environmental Management.

"Globally, only around four percent of all companies rated by CDP make it onto the Climate A List – an indicator of the exclusivity of this award," said Kathrin Apel, Director Corporate Sustainability, Health, Occupational Safety and Environmental Management at MAHLE.

Enhanced Climate Risk Analysis

Particularly noteworthy is the improvement in the CDP subcategory "Risk Disclosure". Last year, MAHLE significantly deepened its analysis of climate-related risks and implemented a tool for location-specific risk assessment. This enables the company to identify vulnerabilities and opportunities from climate change even more precisely and integrate them into its business strategy.

Clear Strategy

The company has aligned its emission reduction targets with the requirements of the Paris Climate Agreement. In 2025, MAHLE was able to reduce CO2 emissions once again. This progress was achieved through the integration of the latest technologies, reduction of energy consumption, increased use of renewable energies, and replacement of fossil fuels. In product development as well, MAHLE is increasingly focusing on the use of recycled and bio-based materials.

The energy and emissions data from MAHLE has been audited externally since 2021 – a sign of transparency and credibility.

Further information on the commitment of MAHLE to sustainability can be found in the current Sustainability Report on the MAHLE website: Social responsibility - MAHLE Group.
