New angle seat valves promise improved safety, reliability and performance
An expanded range of angle seat valves is said to offer new capabilities and best-in-class flow to optimise processes in more applications.
Emerson’s new ASCO Series 290D is currently available in Europe and is due to be released globally by late 2022. The company highlights the robust, modular design of its expanded 290 Series, featuring new valve bodies and actuator materials, fittings, functions, certifications and accessories.
Additional features include fugitive emissions certification, switch box with IP69K protection level and safe actuator dismounting. These customisations are designed to improve process efficiency and safety while reducing costs in many applications, including industrial, food and beverage and specialty chemical.
Built-in modularity enables the interchange of different actuators on the same body for on-site modification of the valve characteristics after assembly. Both IP66 and IP69K enclosures are available for either indoor or outdoor use. The new series is also suitable for a wide range of media, including aggressive fluids, steam, gas, vacuum and superheated water.
The 290 Series is designed with a reliable fluid control mechanism engineered for safe shutdown. With valves accounting for over 51% of fugitive or irregular emissions, the new design helps reduce fugitive emissions and helps to minimise risks to workers and the environment.
Emerson notes that its new actuator requires almost no maintenance and includes further safety-enhancing features such as safe actuator dismounting, which helps ensure maintenance workers are protected during potentially dangerous actuator dismantling procedures.
Featuring the highest flow rate in its class and proportional control for accurate regulation, the company says that the new angle seat valves help improve production efficiency. A long operating life also helps to extend the intervals between maintenance, while its rugged design is built to withstand the demands of challenging operating environments and aggressive media.
The new ASCO Series 290D can be used to improve existing processes or can be customised specifically for new applications.
