Cordless hydraulic pump to be launched in SA
Importer of hydraulic technology group Enerpac’s products Kiloton reports that it will be stocking Enerpac’s new XC-Series cordless hydraulic pumps in South Africa from June.
The XC-Series is designed as a long-lasting pump that can be used in areas that are difficult to access. It is constructed from lightweight materials and is equipped with a powerful 0.74 kW motor and a 28 V lithium-ion battery.
The XC-Series cordless pump delivers oil flow of 2.05 ℓ/m at its low-pressure setting and 0.25 ℓ/m at full pressure, up to 10 000 lb per square inch, or 700 bar. Additionally, the lithium-ion technology ensures that the XC-Series pump provides end-users with battery run time to accommodate demanding application requirements.
Kiloton sales manager Hansie Coetzee, who will oversee the Enerpac division, says the new XC-Series differs from other products on the market for several reasons.
“The pump has a trigger lock-off mechanism, which guards against unintended activa- tion during its transport, and an impact-resistant composite housing; the pump’s bladder reservoir eliminates venting and offers leak-free operation in any orientation,” he says, adding that the overall body, handle and trigger have been ergonomically engineered to increase easy handling and the portability of the pump.
“Additional safety features include over- load protection circuitry, which safeguards the pump and the operator from excessive amp draw or temperatures,” notes Coetzee.
Other features include the rugged design that can perform in the toughest work environments and the elimination of trip hazards from electrical cords and air hoses, as well as being compatible with more than 1 400 tools and cylinders.
“The sealed pump contains a vent-free reservoir. It is also easy to transport, as it has a shoulder strap and integrated carrying handle,” Coetzee adds.
notes that although the XC-Series cordless pumps are slightly pricier than their competitors, the higher cost is offset by their quality, which ensures that their life span is greater than that of other cordless pumps.
