NRW awarded contract on Pilgangoora expansion
NRW Holdings subsidiary Primero Group has been awarded a contract for the construction of the crushing and ore sorting facilities at the Pilgangoora P680 expansion project, in Western Australia.
The award, valued at A$64-million, follows a formal early contractor involvement phase to determine construction methodology, cost and schedule.
“This award continues to build on the long association between Pilbara Minerals and Primero that began with the design and construction of the original Pilgan plant and continues with the delivery of the P680 expansion project,” said NRW MD Jules Pemberton.
Through the P680 project, ASX-listed Pilbara Metals is expanding the Pilgangoora operation’s nameplate capacity from 580 000 t/y to 680 000 t/y of spodumene concentrate.
Primero will complete its contract in the third quarter of next year, with works starting immediately.
