Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, will showcase a range of technologies that are designed to contribute to a more sustainable, cleaner, and energy-efficient future for the shipping and marine industry at Nor-Shipping 2022. The event will be held in Oslo, Norway from 4 – 7 April and brings together exhibitors, technology innovators, investors, and stakeholders from the maritime industry.

Changing legislation and a desire to reduce emissions means that ship operators need to adopt carbon-reducing practices. Parker’s team of specialists will share insights on the latest developments in low-emission marine fuels, electrification, and hybridization, as well as advice on how to transition to greener technologies without risking productivity or downtime. These are all vital steps towards the future of a sustainable, cleaner, and energy-efficient marine industry.

Among the products and solutions on display at the company’s booth (Hall B, Stand B03-06) will be Parker’s Global Vehicle Inverter (GVI) series, the GVM range of Permanent Magnet AC motors, and the new surface treatment, ToughShield Plus, for tube fittings and adapters.

GVI & GVM

Providing a motor control solution for battery systems up to 650V, the low and high voltage GVI series of compact and reliable inverters meet the latest design standards for mobile applications.

The efficient GVM series (PMAC technology) exhibited at Nor-Shipping is a control motor solution for high-voltage battery systems up to 750V. The smaller footprint design of the range allows use in space-constrained designs for cleaner and more economic vehicles.

When partnered together, Parker’s GVI and GVM ranges aim to provide the lowest possible installation costs and highest efficiency while maintaining superior reliability in the most demanding of applications. The combined solution offers lower emissions and noise reductions that are essential within the marine environment.

ToughShield Plus

The company’s zinc-nickel surface treatment, ToughShield Plus, will also feature at Nor-Shipping. The new plating offers improved corrosion protection for tube fittings and adapters, providing end-users with less frequent and easier maintenance, extended fitting service life, and increased resistance to the migration of rust to adjacent components.
