Transnet CEO Portia Derby has promised that the State-owned group will overhaul its approach to the concessioning of port and rail opportunities. Its current model has been deemed far too slow and cumbersome and has yielded only a handful of private-sector participation projects over several years. Derby says the new model will be included in the group’s upcoming corporate plan.
