Ramelius appoints COO, expands executive team
Perth-based Ramelius Resources has appointed a new COO following Duncan Coutts’s resignation last month. The gold miner also expanded its executive team from four to six and has named a new COO.
Mining engineer Tim Hewitt will be the new COO, with effect from mid-February. He has 30 years’ experience at Lihir Gold, St Barbara, Newmont and most recently Gold Fields where he served as general manager of St Ives and Gruyere, as well as technical and mining VP.
In addition, Ramelius has expanded the executive team with the addition of a chief development officer (CDO) and an executive GM for human resources.
Alan Thom has been promoted from GM for business development to the new CDO role, while Kim Boekeman has been appointed to the human resources GM position.
Further, Ramelius appointed Peter Ganza as GM of projects, primarily focusing on the Rebecca-Roe project and the potential Mt Magnet Eridanus cutback/mill expansion. Ganza will continue as acting COO until late February.
