An automated transport robot is pictured moving between shelving units containing goods at Amazon.com’s new fulfilment centre in Kolbaskowo, Poland. Bloomberg reports that academic and commercial roboticists have been putting a lot of energy into solving what is sometimes referred to as the “picking” challenge, and Amazon is trying to direct that energy towards its specific product handling needs.
