Southeastern Trail expansion project, US
Name of the Project
Southeastern Trail expansion project.
Location
The project will traverse the states of Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia, in the US.
Project Owner/s
Williams.
Project Description
The Southeastern Trail expansion project will provide 296 375 dekatherms a day of additional firm transportation capacity for utility and local distribution companies in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.
The project will comprise about 12 km of 107 cm pipeline looping facilities and horsepower additions at existing compressor stations in Virginia, and piping and valve modifications on other existing facilities in South Carolina, Georgia, and Louisiana to allow for bidirectional flow.
Once complete, the project will result in a net reduction of air emissions as legacy facilities are modified using state-of-the-art horsepower technology.
Once complete, the project will help meet growing clean energy demands in the south-east, as well as provide access to new sources of clean domestic natural gas supply, helping to eliminate less environmentally friendly sources of fuel in the energy mix, while enhancing system reliability.
