M&D Group is proud to announce the promotion of Dr Zoliswa Tshetshe to Executive Chairman.
Joining M&D in February 2021 as Head of Human Resources (HR), Dr Tshetshe brought a passion for people, a strategic mindset and leadership philosophy that is rooted in putting people first.
As an exemplary “servant leader”, she champions “breaking the egg from the inside”, which fosters internal change and growth within M&D so that employees become the group’s greatest marketing tool. By also advocating for the marriage of the bottom line (profits) with the top line (purpose), she has helped to build a sustainable M&D that is led with “both head and heart.”
Dr Tshetshe’s deep commitment to people, fostering supportive environments and driving organisational success through HR combined with a relentless pursuit for knowledge earned her doctoral degree from Regenesys. Her compelling doctoral thesis explored the alignment of corporate strategy and organisational culture to promote business effectiveness using M&D as her case study.
While M&D is a multi-billion-rand company, Dr Tshetshe says that the group will always remain true to its entrepreneurial roots by thriving on agility, flat structures, and swift decision-making, all of which are required to successfully navigate a Brittle, Anxious, Nonlinear, and Incomprehensible world.
“I am honoured to be part of a team that embraces transformation,” says Dr Tshetshe. “I believe in all of the M&D Executives who lead the different areas of our business, along with the greater employee profile of the Group. As we head towards the new financial year, I rely on each of you to bring your excellence as you always do. Together, we will continue ‘Growing a Great Company with Great People and Great Partnerships’!”
