Celebrating 50 years of serving the mining industry worldwide, SRK Consulting continues to be a partner to its clients in working to derisk mining investments. As an independent consultancy with over 45 offices on six continents, the company provides focused advice and solutions through its experienced multidisciplinary teams.

With this year’s Investing in African Mining Indaba focusing on positive disruption, SRK Consulting continues to bring the power of innovation to an industry undergoing rapid change.

"Our respected engineers and scientists work with clients to deliver integrated and sustainable solutions– bringing our depth of experience in the fields of water; environmental, social and governance (ESG); infrastructure and energy to mining challenges," says SRK Consulting MD Andrew van Zyl.

As the mining sector develops and refines its ESG policies and practices, SRK Consulting has become a leader in the evolution of best practice interventions in community engagement, social responsibility and inclusive growth. The company has also mainstreamed the inclusion of climate change risks into its technical disciplines, ensuring that clients can responsibly address current and future risks.

"Based on our strong foundation and broad range of engineering and scientific disciplines, we are able to partner with clients in their decarbonisation journey to meet their climate change commitments. We work with clients to address various Sustainable Development Goals, including the responsible management of water through the latest water stewardship approaches," highlights Van Zyl.

SRK's global resource consists of about 1 700 specialists who are leaders in fields such as due diligence, technical studies, mine waste, water management, permitting and mine rehabilitation, as well as designs and specifications for major projects worldwide. For mining projects, the company offers services and solutions from exploration to mine closure.

Applying its extensive knowledge base, SRK's consultants develop practical techniques that meet clients’ unique needs and financial objectives.

"Among our clients are many of the world’s major, medium-sized, and junior metal and industrial mining houses; exploration companies; financial institutions; engineering, procurement, construction and management firms and government departments," concludes Van Zyl.
