Strong demand for Marken label holder

Demand for the Marken label holder from custom packaging solutions designer and manufacturer Conceptainer in Kwazulu-Natal is described as “extremely good”, with capacity to produce 10 000 units a month.

Marken label holders were developed in 2016 following the call for a resilient control document holder for racking equipment, bins and crates used in warehousing and distribution to prevent data inaccuracies. The labelling system can also be attached to trolleys, containers and shelving.

Conventionally, clear plastic holders or adhesive cards are used to fix control documentation to rotor moulded bins, canvas and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) material containers. However, these methods are often unsightly, uneconomical and have a short operational lifespan, says Conceptainer sales manager Ian Gallie.

“Conventional pouches easily disfigure and eventually tear or break, and leave behind an adhesive residue when removed.”

The re-usable Marken label holders have an indefinite product life, and are hygienic and easy to clean.

“These high impact-resistant label holders are also unaffected by ultraviolet rays and challenging weather conditions, and are designed for nonabsorption of contaminants, offering an extended service life, even in tough environments, as well as the food sector, which demands pristine conditions,” adds Gallie, who is also responsible for the sales and marketing of Conceptainer’s pallet-free bulk bags, polypropylene bag-repair tape, antistatic corrugated board and stillage boxes.

Extruded from 100% locally sourced recycled polypropylene, the label holder is recyclable, contributing to carbon footprint reduction efforts.

The label holder’s design is continually modified to suit various applications and is manufactured to the size specified by clients.

Available in blue, black and grey, the product can also be supplied in specified corporate colours in line with a company’s brand. The vertical chamfered edges of the holder are adaptable to suit most packaging designs.

The Marken label holders allow for horizontal and vertical movement of packaging when labels are in position and, by inverting the label holder, it can accommodate an A4 sheet vertically. The replaceable plastic document clips can be moved to various positions on the label holder to suit stock control sheets, while the system also enables scanners to read card information easily, eliminating data inaccuracies.

Self-tapping screws or blind rivets fix the Marken label holder securely to the bin, using the locating holes provided. Backing plates or washers are used to fix the holder to canvas and PVC material stillages. The recommended fixing method of these holders to steel cage and steel frame stillages is by cable ties or blind rivets.

Marken label holders enhance Conceptainer’s range of packaging systems aimed at realising safe and reliable stock control during logistical transport.

The label holders are marketed internationally  and have been well received locally, particularly in the automotive, warehousing and distribution sectors, says the company.

Conceptainer’s product offering also includes conventional correx bins, collapsible bins and pallet systems.
