Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - Sustainability has become more than a corporate buzzword—it is now a decisive factor shaping the future of industries worldwide. For businesses across Malaysia and the region, the pressure to integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations into operations is no longer optional. Rising expectations from consumers, investors, and regulators are driving the demand for transparent reporting, credible carbon reduction strategies, and sustainable innovations. At the same time, global challenges such as climate change, resource scarcity, and social inequality call for bold solutions that not only protect the planet but also safeguard long-term business resilience. Understanding these dynamics is vital to ensure that sustainability efforts move from aspiration to measurable impact.

This is where verification, certification, and assurance play a critical role. For example, a sustainability report assurance provides stakeholders with confidence that claims are credible, and data is reliable. Similarly, greenhouse gas (GHG) verification and carbon footprint measurements offer businesses the tools they need to identify risks, measure progress, and comply with emerging regulations. These measures ensure that sustainability initiatives are not just well-intentioned statements, but validated practices that withstand scrutiny.

Building on this momentum, the Sustainable Action Conference 2025 (SAC 3.0), co-organized by Control Union Malaysia and the Malaysian Dutch Business Council (MDBC), offers a unique platform to advance these efforts. Scheduled for 22 October 2025 at the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur and streamed live from the venue in Kuala Lumpur, the conference carries the theme “The Future is Now: Accelerating Sustainable Transformation.” It will gather over 300 leaders and stakeholders to explore practical solutions around decarbonisation, circular economy, digitalisation, social compliance, and innovation. Beyond discussions, the event will feature the MDBC Innovation & Sustainability Awards (MISA), recognizing companies that have demonstrated excellence in sustainable practices. More than just a conference, SAC 2025 is designed as a catalyst for collaboration, a space where ideas transform into partnerships, and commitments evolve into tangible actions. It serves as both a starting point and a connector for organizations on their sustainability journey.
