Tertiary dives deeper into silver discoveries at Mushima North

Aim-listed Tertiary Minerals has confirmed economically significant mineralisation of silver and cobalt at its Mushima North project, in Zambia, in addition to the project’s already identified copper and zinc mineralisation.

Some of the company’s results from the latest round of laboratory analysis include 59 m of silver grading 25 g/t, copper grading 0.2% and zinc grading 1.16% from 10 m; and 6 m grading 0.08% cobalt and 0.58% copper from 47 m.

The company submitted four drill holes for multi-element check analysis, with three holes from the A1 target having shown the most promise.

Another hole, from the C1 target, shows narrow intervals of low-grade gold mineralisation.

Tertiary chairperson Patrick Cheetham comments that the silver and cobalt mineralisation marks an exciting grass roots discovery for the company.

“So far, we have checked only one of a number of adjacent 50 m spaced drill holes on Line 1 that contain intervals of copper and zinc, which were drilled within the newly defined silver anomaly.

“With many of these holes ending in mineralisation and the open-ended silver anomaly being at least 1.3 km long, it is clear we have only just scratched the surface at Mushima North,” he adds.

The wide interval of silver mineralisation that Tertiary has uncovered suggests a target of potential economic interest. For comparison, the reserve grade at the Rochester heap leach bulk silver mine, in Nevada, in the US, only grades 13 g/t silver.

All existing holes considered prospective for silver will now be submitted for further analysis.
